Dr。 Nariman is found dead in his own clinic。 Renowned for his weight loss advice, people either love it or hate it。Along the same lines, Dr。 Nariman is either liked and well respected 。。 or not。Then a local nurse is found dead at a bus stop with a slit throat。 She had worked in Nariman's clinic。 Just coincidence 。。 or were they both targeted?Detectives Gil Markham and George Noakes are called in to investigate。 BOOK BLURB: Between disgruntled patients, obsessive fans and fellow weight-loss speci Dr。 Nariman is found dead in his own clinic。 Renowned for his weight loss advice, people either love it or hate it。Along the same lines, Dr。 Nariman is either liked and well respected 。。 or not。Then a local nurse is found dead at a bus stop with a slit throat。 She had worked in Nariman's clinic。 Just coincidence 。。 or were they both targeted?Detectives Gil Markham and George Noakes are called in to investigate。 BOOK BLURB: Between disgruntled patients, obsessive fans and fellow weight-loss specialists, it seems a lot of people had motive to murder the good doctor。As with all the books in this series, it is well-written with a solid plot and an intriguing story line。 For anyone familiar with this series, you can only imagine how Noakes responds with his normal sarcastic remarks 。。 and how many people are offended。 Although 13th in the series, it is easily read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend starting at the beginning and reading in order。 The relationship between the two detectives is priceless。 They are more than partners 。。 they are brothers who are always there for each other。There are many multi-layered characters to watch。 Most have reasons to have the doctor murdered 。。。 but the nurse as well? The detectives may have a case that goes cold 。。。 Twists and turns lead to a surprising ending。Many thanks to the author / Joffe Books / Books n All Book Promotions for the digital copy of this crime fiction。 Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own。 。。。more

Having read one of Catherine’s books before, I was delighted to receive this as an ARC。 Although murder is gruesome, I just love the eloquent way this author writes, and she has an excellent command of the English language。 I found the book very entertaining and comical in parts。 I loved Noakes, typical brusque Yorkshireman, says it as it is。 The description of the “beautiful bodies” was so concise, I’ve been to slimming clubs etc, and the way people behave, the author had me laughing away, beca Having read one of Catherine’s books before, I was delighted to receive this as an ARC。 Although murder is gruesome, I just love the eloquent way this author writes, and she has an excellent command of the English language。 I found the book very entertaining and comical in parts。 I loved Noakes, typical brusque Yorkshireman, says it as it is。 The description of the “beautiful bodies” was so concise, I’ve been to slimming clubs etc, and the way people behave, the author had me laughing away, because it’s exactly how it is。 Anyway, after the Dr Nariman is murdered, and another person, a nurse is found at the bus stop with her throat slit, it’s up to D I Markham and DS Noakes to find out who committed these murders and why。 I have to say, this was a delight to read, and the humour in it was wonderful。 If you want to read a book that’s not dark and gruesome this is the one to read。 I loved it。 My thanks to Catherine, and Joffe Publishers for the ARC。 。。。more

DI Markham and DS Noakes are back again, this time trying to find out who has firstly murdered a doctor who not only runs a clinic for obese people but is also involved in a tv programme featuring some of his clients。 The whole "cosmetic" surgery and related items are handled well by the author although you do get a bit of light relief with Noakes who has no filter and just says it as he sees it - thus representing the thoughts of many people, however he can be sensitive too at times。 Good solid DI Markham and DS Noakes are back again, this time trying to find out who has firstly murdered a doctor who not only runs a clinic for obese people but is also involved in a tv programme featuring some of his clients。 The whole "cosmetic" surgery and related items are handled well by the author although you do get a bit of light relief with Noakes who has no filter and just says it as he sees it - thus representing the thoughts of many people, however he can be sensitive too at times。 Good solid police procedural story and I had no idea as to who the baddie was until it was mentioned in the book。Thanks to Joffe books for the ARC to review。 。。。more
